SAD NEWS:  Ashley Younghas just announced his sudden retirement due to

Everton’s summer transfer window has been a productive one with the Toffees having seen four new faces come through the doors.

However, there is still one week for the Toffees to get any further deals across the line for Sean Dyche ahead of the deadline next week.

On the pitch, Everton have it all to do this weekend as they require a bounceback performance against Tottenham Hotspur following their opening day defeat.

But there has been one position which has been exposed as a huge weak point for the Blues over the opening weekend.

With Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson out through injury, Ashley Young’s suspension has not done the right-back spot any favours.

However, Everton are now showing an interest in signing Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier as he seeks a new club.

What Kieran Trippier’s agents are now doing amid Everton interest

Trippier’s spot in the Newcastle squad now appears to be non existent with Eddie Howe allowing Trippier to play for the U21s.

The England international played for the Newcastle youth side in the recent Tyne and Wear Derby which was a huge indication as to where the defender’s future lay.

With just one week remaining in the transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has now shared what the right-back’s agents are now going to be doing.

Speaking in his Daily Briefing, Romano has claimed Trippier’s agents are going to be assessing their options with just a matter of days remaining until the transfer deadline.

“Kieran Trippier’s agents are gonna explore several options for their client, but there’s nothing imminent on this one at the moment,” Romano said.

“Trippier can leave but guys, let me be clear, he could also end up staying at Newcastle in case they don’t find a good solution.

“It’s about explorative talks now, nothing close with Everton or any other club yet.”

Should Everton sign Kieran Trippier this summer?

He may well still be an England international, but signing Trippier is not going to come without its issues for Everton.

The right-back is set to turn 34-years-old over the new few weeks and does not boast the best of injury issues.

That was even seen at this summer’s Euros with Trippier going down injured during the first game of the tournament.

Despite providing 10 assists in the league last season, there is a reason as to why Newcastle want to offload Trippier this summer.

Perhaps it is time for Dyche to put his trust in his youth players and provide someone like Roman Dixon with an opportunity from the starting XI.

Of course, the youngster would be being thrown in at the deep end but it could prove to be his making at the club if he could hit the ground running.
