‘He is really happy here’ – Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers reacts to Matt O’Riley transfer talk latest with honest response
BRENDAN RODGERS insists Matt O’Riley is in no rush to leave Celtic.
The Danish international, 23, has been the subject of heavy interest from Atalanta and several clubs from England and across Europe in recent months.

The Italian side have had multiple bids booted out by Celtic as the Hoops chase a club record fee for the playmaker this summer.
It’s believed the most recent bid from Atalanta was in the range of £21.5m plus a couple of million more in add-ons.
That was, of course, short of the £25m that Arsenal paid for Kieran Tierney and Saudi outfit Al-Ittihad forked out for Jota last summer.
But reports from Italy this week suggest the Parkhead club are now holding out for a fee in the region of £30m – including add-ons – which has seemingly blown Atalanta out of the race for the midfielder.

The Serie A side have since turned their attention elsewhere, agreeing a deal for Udinese star Lazar Samardzic who is set to be confirmed as their latest signing on a four-year deal with an option for another season.
He will be brought in to replace outgoing star Teun Koopmeiners who is closing in on a big-money move to league rivals Juventus.
It’s unlikely Atalanta will splash out the required fee to land O’Riley on top of that, leaving negotiations over the Dane’s future back to square-one.
But Hoops boss Rodgers reckons the midfielder won’t be fazed if he fails to secure a move away from Parkhead before the end of the window as he is “really happy” in Glasgow.

The Northern Irishman has admitted though that he can’t say for definite whether the 23-year-old will be a Celtic player when the window slams shut.
Speaking after Celtic’s 3-1 win against Hibs which booked their place in the League Cup quarter-final, Rodgers was quizzed on the midfielder’s future by the Premier Sports panel.
Asked if O’Riley will still be a Celtic player in September, he replied: “I don’t know is the honest answer. You see with him that he is an incredibly talented player.
“There is a value we have for him, and if that’s not met he will be here – it’s as simple as that.

“He is really happy here, but it has to be something that draws him away.
“I am not overthinking it. We all know the model here at Celtic – players will improve and they will get to a level that get beyond, not the club, but in terms of the financial salary. But until that comes we continue to work with him.”
