Dan Plumley has insisted that there are many significant hurdles to overcome for John Textor after he entered exclusivity for an Everton takeover.

The American billionaire signed a takeover agreement with Farhad Moshiri [David Ornstein] but still needs to sell his shares in Crystal Palace before moving forward.

The finance expert admitted that several extra hurdles can be added to a normal club takeover due to the situation at Everton and Goodison Park.

“We’ve been here before,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“Granting a period of exclusivity doesn’t really mean too much in the grand scheme of things and certainly, Everton fans will feel like they’ve been through this time and time again.

“It is a conversation starter, it’s the first hurdle to get over with any club takeover, but we know in general takeover terms, there are another few significant hurdles to get over.

“In the context of Everton and what has come before, you can add several hurdles onto that given the backstory and some of the things that have happened with other failed takeovers.

“Unfortunately, it does feel a little bit like here we go again, there needs to be a resolution, of course, but I’m sure the fans will probably be more cautious now than they have ever been because they’ve been here before and nothing has got over the line.”

John Textor to complete Everton takeover?

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has openly admitted that he is working to help Textor sell his shares at the club, so hopefully that doesn’t drag on too long.

Once that is over, repayments of certain loans and the construction of the Bramley Moore Dock Stadium will take centre stage before everything is completed.

In other Everton news, Richard Keys has shared “huge problems” at Goodison Park after recent developments.
