Who was linked to sign Meslier in the summer?
Reports from French outlets claimed that Marseille were keen on signing Meslier this summer as they look to rebuild the side in the vision of new manager Roberto De Zerbi.
The Italian boss is looking to hit the ground running at his new squad and the goalkeeper he signs is going to be vital to how his side plays.
What was the reported asking price from Leeds for Meslier?
The Daily Mail relayed claims that Meslier could have been of interest to Marseille this summer, in which they shared that Leeds were setting a lofty asking price.
It is reported that Leeds would be asking for £20million to part with the 24-year-old, who has two years left on his contract until 2026.

New contract for Meslier?
Journalist Ben Jacobs has most recently shared that there could be discussions around a new contract for the goalkeeper at the moment.
However, having seen Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter all leave by triggered release clauses, Meslier could be looking for a similar route.
Jacobs said this to Give Me Sport:
“The 49ers enterprise’s approach is very much that their hands have been a bit tied contractually, and anyone that they negotiate with, they want to try and remove that clause.
“But of course, from the player’s point of view, if you knew the clause existed for others, or you signed a new long-term deal, and I think this is particularly the case, from what I hear, with Meslier, that the player may want to protect themselves against the fact that if Leeds don’t go up, they’re stuck on a long-term deal, and maybe they feel their development is elsewhere. So it’s a balancing act.”

If Mellier is to leave the price should start at 50milluon. He is only starting to get better this season if we go down then keep him to get us back up. But one way or another we need better players than mckinnie. roca.
