GOOD NEWS: Celtic Linked with Liverpool Duo

Recent comments from Liverpool journalist Paul Gorst on Redman TV have sparked discussions among Celtic supporters, particularly regarding potential links to two young Liverpool players, Ben Doak and Bobby Clark.

Ben Doak, who made the switch from Celtic to Liverpool not so long ago, has reportedly caught the eye of several clubs, including Leicester City, Southampton, and perhaps surprisingly, Celtic. Gorst mentioned, “Leicester and Southampton are two of the clubs interested, Celtic as well.”

However, this has been met with scepticism by many within the Celtic fanbase. Given the nature of Doak’s departure, there are doubts about whether Celtic would bring him back simply to further develop him for Liverpool’s benefit.

The idea of a loan move seems more like the work of an agent trying to elevate the player’s profile rather than a serious prospect.

Meanwhile, Bobby Clark, another promising youngster at Liverpool, has also been linked with a range of clubs, including Celtic, Rangers*, and RB Salzburg.

Despite this, Gorst has suggested that Liverpool are not actively looking to part ways with Clark, despite the growing interest. Clubs in the Championship such as Leeds United, Norwich City, and Derby County are also reportedly monitoring the situation.

For Celtic supporters, the links to both players appear to be weak at best. There is a sense of familiarity with these types of transfer rumours, where the club’s name is used more as a bargaining chip than a genuine indication of interest. It seems more plausible that these connections are about drumming up attention for the players rather than signalling real moves by Celtic.
