Fabrizio Romano will lose credibility with the Celtic fans after latest Rangers Man United transfer claim

Fabrizio Romano talks Celtic.

The transfer silly season is well upon us all now as the Celtic and Rangers fans wait to see who the next new signing will be at both their clubs.

Celtic have already added two quality goalkeepers and the supporters will be hoping that more new faces are on the way soon. Because once Brendan Rodgers does that, the fear from the Rangers supporters will increase exponentially.

Rangers, however, have been adding project players who are really not up to the task of playing first-team football yet.

As Philippe Clement comes under pressure to catch Celtic, they need players who are up to the task of competing with Scotland’s most successful club. And Fabrizio Romano has bizarrely linked them with a player who is well out of their reach.

Rangers ‘interest’ in Man United’s Hannibal Mejbri

The transfer specialist said that there is ‘genuine interest’ from Rangers for Man United player, Hannibal Mejbri, who still has a year left of his current deal.

EzoicHave a listen to this:

Hannibal Mejbri joined Man United for €5m back in 2019 and Romano claims that the Premier League giants are looking to sell him this summer.

Mejbri has made just 13 appearances for United but did spend last season on loan at Sevilla making just six appearances. However, he was a major player for Birmingham the season prior to that and made 38 appearances for the club. [Transfermarkt]

EzoicWith the kind of money bit-part players go for in England, how much money would it take to sign a 20-year-old player who has 27 senior caps for his country? I’ll give you a hint, a lot more than Rangers can afford anyway.

Romano really needs to do his homework on Scottish football and Rangers in particular before spouting this because this kind of ‘rumour’ just proves that when it comes to genuine transfer updates, ones that Rangers can afford, this guy knows nothing about the game in our country.
