Everton make contact to sign £6m midfielder compared to Jude Bellingham who can also play right-back

Sean Dyche could use a new striker at Everton, although the right-back department is also very weak.

The Toffees started Ashley Young – who is now 39 years of age – in that area against Brighton, with the England international becoming the oldest Premier League player ever to receive a straight red card.

Sean Dyche only has Mason Holgate and Seamus Coleman in reserve – but now, a central midfielder who can also cover on the right has been approached by Everton

Everton make contact to sign Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe

A story from RMC Sport now states that Everton have approached Eintracht Frankfurt to enquire about Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe.

The French news outlet believe the Toffees are yet to make contact with the Frenchman’s representatives at this stage, and are merely asking the Bundesliga side if they would be willing to sell.

Ebimbe – who Eintracht Frankfurt signed from PSG in a €6.5m (£6m) deal back in August 2022 – is a key man for the German outfit, making 25 starts in the Bundesliga last season as he scored five goals and also provided three assists.

The 23-year-old also has a contract until July 2027, so presumably, it will take a fairly large fee for Everton to sign the Eintracht Frankfurt No.26 this summer.

Nevertheless, if Ebimbe himself pushes for a move to the Premier League, anything is possible.

It comes after O Tempo in Brazil claimed that Everton have also made a bid to sign Alisson Santana from Atletico Mineiro – who has a £51m release clause.

Sean Dyche could land his own Jude Bellingham

Interestingly, the Bundesliga’s official website have compared Ebimbe to Jude Bellingham – as a result of his “rangy gait and ability to drive through opposition ranks” being similar to the England international.

As aforesaid, the France U21 international can also cover at right-back for Everton, having made 63 appearances throughout his career as a right wing-back.

It is an ambitious target for Kevin Thelwell – Director of Football at Goodison Park – to pursue this late in the transfer window, although the fact contact has been made would suggest Everton are quietly optimistic that an agreement can be found before the transfer window ends on Friday 30th August.
