Breaking News:Rangers are in talks with Manchester United to sign Hannibal Mejbri

According to Team Talk, Scottish club Rangers are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri on a loan deal for the upcoming season. The club has started initial discussions with the Red Devils for the French-born player. United are also keen on offloading the player in the summer.

Hannibal joined the Manchester United academy in 2019 for around £8.4m following his stint with Monaco. The young attacking midfielder has thrived at the academy level and also won the United’s Denzil Haroun Reserve Player of the Year award for the Under-21s in 2021 and made his senior debut in May of that year.

The Tunisian international failed to make any impact in the senior team and he has struggled for the playing time at Old Trafford due to his underwhelming performances. United also loaned out the player to Championship club Birmingham City in the 2022–23 season. The young midfielder had a productive spell with the club and returned to the United last summer.

Erik ten Hag has used the young midfielder in some games, but he failed to impress the Dutch manager. He made only 11 appearances for the Red Devils last campaign under Erik ten Hag. Later, he was loaned to La Liga club Sevilla in January and the Spanish club had the opportunity to sign him permanently. However, he has only featured in six games for the Spanish club.

He is currently entering the final 12 months with United, and the club is set to offload the player in the summer. Rangers have expressed their desire to sign the player and they are discussing the possibilities with United.

After an underwhelming stint with Sevilla, Ten Hag has no intentions of retaining Hannibal for the upcoming season. United are keen on offloading the player in the summer, as his contract expires next summer. The Red Devils are not interested in letting him leave for free next year and they are trying to cash in on the player in summer.
