The tension was brought to a head on Sunday when even Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic manager, publicly expressed his dissatisfaction. After a comfortable 3-0 victory against St Mirren, Rodgers didn’t hold back, admitting that he was unhappy about the club still chasing signings with only five days left in the window. He made it clear that recruitment needed to improve.
This frustration isn’t just confined to the dressing room. Shortly after Rodgers’ comments, a video surfaced showing a group of Celtic fans confronting Chairman Peter Lawwell outside St Mirren Park.
The interaction was tense, with one fan growing particularly agitated, prompting Lawwell to tell him to “calm down” before walking away. As Lawwell departed, another fan directed an expletive at the chairman, while others chose to voice their concerns more calmly.
It’s understandable that emotions are running high. Celtic supporters have been patient, but after a series of disappointing transfer windows, their patience is wearing thin. The club’s lack of significant investment in new players has left many feeling that the team isn’t equipped to compete at the highest levels, particularly in Europe.
However, while it’s crucial for fans to hold the board accountable, it’s equally important to maintain a level of respect in these discussions. The passion Celtic supporters have for their club is undeniable, and their desire to see the team succeed in Europe is shared by all. Yet, crossing the line into aggression or name-calling does little to advance the cause. Civil discourse is vital, even in moments of frustration.
The Celtic board, including Peter Lawwell, is undoubtedly feeling the heat. The pressure to invest wisely and strengthen the squad is immense. For the sake of the club’s future success, especially on the European stage, it’s crucial that the board steps up in these final days of the transfer window. But as fans continue to voice their concerns, let’s remember to keep the conversation constructive and focused on the common goal.

At least he showed face, and listened to the arguments, respect to him (and the other bloke).
Lesson learned, he knows how to not spend and make profit. Not the only one, on the board.
The fans (or the folks who keep him in his latest job) are upset.
It’s water off a ducks back to he. Brendan has to have a sit down talk with the board now.
Here’s to hoping they listen.

For the likes of him we aren’t fans, we’re customers.
If the customers turn against him then his time will be up. It’s up to the fans to mobilise to get rid of him. It won’t happen next Sunday due to who we are playing but after that the Board should be roundly booed anytime they appear in the directors box.
They are our employees and if we want them out then we need to get them out ourselves.

Half a dozen fans and it’s the whole support we will spend but if we get players at 15 million there wage bill will be to much of a burden for an spl club we won’t win champions league so why put our club in finacil ruin trying you seen what happen to old co rangers chasing it I don’t want my club suffering that yes get players but we can’t afford players that will won us champions league if we stay in Europe after Christmas will be great even dropping into europa cup would be great people say new co rangers do it buy the got put out of champions league getting beat by dynamo Kiev I hope Celtic get them drawn in there group we will win the league with our squad but we will buy two even three players these players are waiting to see what’s on offer Celtic and Rodgers have proved we can improve players and won’t hold them back if the right offer comes in just like O’Riley but it has to be right offer you can’t sign a four year contract and the after two years put a gun to the clubs head cause your offered bigger wages what player do for ne I wouldn’t want a player like that it said idah done that I don’t believe that cause CELTIC would not want a player that way Norwich renagde on the price talked about next time celtic will get it in writing if that’s true then Norwich played dirty and not only Celtic but other clubs will not trust them
