Alan Myers: Jack Harrison set to become next Everton signing

Everton confirmed on Sunday (23 June) that Lewis Dobbin has joined Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.

The Toffees have also confirmed that Tim Iroegbunam has moved to Goodison Park from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee. The 20-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year deal until 2027.

He has become Everton’s first signing of the summer transfer window and will join his new teammates next month when the players return to pre-season training at Finch Farm.

Everton could be involved in more transfers in the coming days. Alan Myers has shared on X that Jack Harrison is expected to join Goodison Park next.

The Toffees have already agreed a loan deal to sign the Leeds United winger for the rest of the season. The 27-year-old joined Everton last season on loan and played regularly under Sean Dyche.

It has been reported that Leeds will not ask for any transfer fee, but the Toffees will have to pay his wages throughout the campaign.

Signing Jack Harrison from Leeds is no brainer

Harrison spent three seasons on loan at Elland Road before joining Leeds permanently in 2021.

He impressed heavily under Marcelo Bielsa, but the former Manchester City winger gradually lost his position in the side. He is currently not in Daniel Farke’s first-team plans, and Leeds have made the right decision to send him out on loan.

Last season, he scored four goals in 35 games for Everton and the Toffees have made the right call in bringing him back to Goodison Park.

Harrison has a long-term contract at Elland Road until 2028, and Leeds can afford to send him on loan at the moment. If he impresses next season, Everton could try to sign him on a permanent deal.

Everton are also showing keen interest in signing Newcastle United winger Yankabu Minteh and talks have been held recently. Newcastle are keen to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
