Adam Idah breaks Celtic social media silence as Norwich City striker drops transfer tease

One glance at Adam Idah’s Instagram page and you’d think he was a Celtic player.

Brendan Rodgers and the green-and-white faithful will hope that’s the case come the end of the transfer window, but Idah hasn’t exactly been shy in dropping subtle hints about where he wants to play his football. The Hoops remain locked in negotiations with Norwich City over a deal to bring last season’s Old Firm Scottish Cup-winning goal hero back to Parkhead on a permanent deal.

Football Scotland exclusively revealed at the start of the month that the Scottish champions had a £4million bid turned down by the Canaries, who are reluctant to sell their homegrown talent.

Newly-appointed Johannes Hoff Thorup boss then doubled down on the EFL Championship club’s stance by insisting Idah was an “important” part of his plans for the new season. However, it’s understood the Republic of Ireland striker is keen to return to Glasgow after a stunning six-month loan stint.

The 23-year-old has made no secret of that on Instagram either as his profile picture still shows him decked out in a Celtic jersey, with no mention of Norwich in his bio. And the frontman got tongues wagging last night as he reacted to the Hoops’ emphatic 4-1 win over Chelsea in the United States.

Celts posted a picture of the final scoreline on their official Instagram page along with a picture of goalscorer Mikey Johnston and Idah was quick off the mark to reply with a smiling face with love hearts emoji. Although Johnston was on loan at West Brom during Idah’s stint in Glasgow, the pair are international teammates so Idah may well have been showing support for his pal.

However, excited Celtic punters soon flooded the striker with messages begging him to sign up ahead of the new season. One wrote: “Mon up the road big .
