The Light Blues are interested in signing the second young midfielder and have been scouting him during preseason [Football Scotland, 10 July] after bringing in Barron from Aberdeen as his contract expired.

Ex-Ibrox favourite Ferguson believes it is an obvious course of action this summer after ignoring the best Scottish talent too often in recent years.

 

He is a huge fan of the way the 17-year-old sensation plays after watching him at Fir Park multiple times and for Rangers he feels it is a “no-brainer” of a transfer.

 

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News he said: “I’ve watched a lot of the boy over the course of the last season at a number of the Motherwell games.“Yep, a 17-year-old but he plays like a 27-year-old, so mature for his age. He’s obviously a terrific footballer but for a young man he’s got a real physicality about him.

 

“For me it’s a no-brainer. I think Rangers have missed a trick over the past number of years by not scouting enough of the young Scottish talent. He’s a top player. His old man, his dad, was a top player as well.“It’s good to see we’ve got young Barron through the door, I’d love to see Miller [too].”
