Celtic have been the dominant force in Scottish football since the turn of the century. That is something no one can deny.
Taking a look at Celtic’s trophy history shows just how much the club have been on top in Scotland after breaking numerous records with Quadruple Trebles, another nine-in-a-row and then Ange Postecoglou sealing a record-breaking eighth domestic treble before he left for Spurs.
With that dominance comes the riches that go with it. Automatic qualification for the Champions League group stages has given Celtic access to millions of UEFA pounds and coupled with the player trading model the club, the Parkhead club are miles ahead of anyone else in Scotland not just on the pitch, but also off it.
‘Somebody at Rangers’ admits Celtic are too strong financially
The financial controls the Celtic board have in place have ensured that the club is and will be for some time to come, self-sustainable.
And that is what BBC man, Tom English, has said that someone at Rangers admitted to him that is what the Ibrox club just ‘cannot go toe-to-toe’ with.
English said [The Scottish Football Podcast], “It’s got to be highly debatable whether they’re going to see that quality or as much quality as they want to see because Rangers don’t have the money for it.
“I mean, I spoke to somebody at Rangers recently and they were saying that look, they cannot go toe to toe financially with Celtic.
“They just can’t do it. It doesn’t make any physical sense and they could get themselves into a world of trouble again if they do that.

“Celtic have huge financial advantages over Rangers.”
Celtic’s latest accounts show where the club is in terms of finances these days.
Record turnover achieved last year coupled with a share price that has skyrocketed to a record high over the last few weeks and the superb partnership with Adidas means that Celtic have never been in such a great position in a business sense.
And it is those steady streams of income that will ensure Brendan Rodgers has the financial muscle to flex in the transfer market to bring in quality players to keep Celtic’s dominance on the park going just as strongly as their dominance off it.
