Aris are reportedly looking to sign an experienced centre-back this summer and can afford the Englishman’s wages.

Goldson is reported to already be a target for Birmingham City [Scottish Sun, 30 June] and also has interest from Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq [Daily Record, 24 April].

This Is Mappa wrote: “We know Aris have been looking to sign an experienced CB this summer & they certainly have the financial muscle to aff

ord Goldson’s salary.”Then in a follow-up comment suggesting it was just rumours they added: “We’ve done some digging. Could be more than just a rumour.”

Connor Goldson to follow James Tavernier out of Rangers?

].If there could be something in the suggestion that the vice-captain is going to leave as well at a time when Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen appear to need to clear out senior players in order to continue to bring in their own signings it might mean the window is about to get moving again.
