GOOD NEWS:Alex McLeish backs Kevin Muscat for the Rangers job

Kevin Muscat has been backed by Alex McLeish to become Rangers’ next head coach.

McLeish, who signed Muscat in 2002, believes the 52-year-old is the right man to lead the club forward after Russell Martin’s departure.

The Ibrox side have only managed one win in seven league matches this season

Speaking to the Scottish Sun, Mr McLeish said: “Musky will know what’s needed having been there and done it..

Being at the club would have been good for his education of Glasgow Rangers.

He said: “When you consider the Postecoglou journey, it’s almost a replica of the route Musky has gone down.

Looking at his career, he’s done extremely well, so it’s no surprise to me that Rangers are considering him.

The fact Postecoglou came over to Scotland and did a hell of a job at Celtic has maybe got some people thinking deja vu with Musky to come to Rangers and do the same.”
